About

Meraki Urban Farm is a woman-owned vertical microgreens farm located in the heart of Chicago. Founded by Katie Staudt—former creative director turned urban farmer—Meraki was born from a passion for healthy eating, sustainable living, and reconnecting people with their food. Inspired by her grandparents who were lifelong farmers, Katie combined creativity with purpose to grow something meaningful—literally and figuratively.
At Meraki, we specialize in growing nutrient-dense, small-batch microgreens using sustainable methods. We believe in the power of local food to nourish both body and community, and we’re committed to making fresh, flavorful greens more accessible to everyone.
You can find us at several Chicago-area farmers markets, through direct local sales, and at hands-on workshops that teach people how to grow their own microgreens at home. Whether you’re a foodie, a health enthusiast, or a curious beginner, Meraki offers a way to connect with your food, support local agriculture, and grow something good.
